Damen hadn't seen Aramis in some time, but still he sprung immediately to mind. He thought he might be able to consider the man a friend though likely not strong enough of one to reasonably borrow his horse for any length of time.

I hear there's a stable some miles into the countryside and you can rent horses for a time. I believe it's a guided thing; they won't let you out on your own, but it might be better than nothing at all.'
